Q: I bought a custom domain name (myblog.com) and I would like to use that instead of myblog.adastrafanfic.net. How do I set that up?

A: Our system does support the use of custom names, but in order to implement this, you will need to do the following:

1) Whatever service you used to register, you will need to add the following information for an A record.

  • TTL: 3600
  • IP:
  • Hostname: @

After you have completed your edits to the zone file, please make sure it appears similar to the below image:

2) Open a ticket and inform our staff that you would like to use your custom domain, and that you have already edited your zone file. Our site administrator will then add the domain into your blog and inform you when the domain is now active.

IMPORTANT: Prior to opening the ticket, browse to your custom domain. If you do not see the main Ad Astra archive page, then your domain is not yet active and/or pointing to the right location. If you need assistance in setting up your domain, you can open a ticket for assistance and we will do our best to guide you. Please make sure to include which hosting/domain registrar you're using as well as where your name servers are located (ie: GoDaddy, Namecheap.com, 1and1.com, etc).
